1.3.1. Sharing principles and values

Risks

  • The values of the partner, its code of conduct and other mechanisms are only pro forma and not embedded in the working culture of the partner organisation.

Good practice

  • Actively discuss and share Helvetas values with the partner. Organise events to discuss those issues.
  • As part of the agreement, all employees of the partner should have signed the code of conduct or integrated it in their working contracts.

1.3.2. Sensitisation on fraud and corruption

Risks

  • The partner has no mechanisms to fight fraud and corruption in procurement processes. Or mechanisms against fraud and corruption are only pro forma and not embedded in the working culture of the partner organisation.

Good practice

  • Actively discuss and raise awareness of the partner about the importance of implementing measures against fraud and corruption. Remind the partner of the sanctions Helvetas may apply. Organise events to discuss those issues.
  • Support the partner to develop and implement mechanisms against fraud and corruption.
