2.10. Closure of partner’s project

Risks

• Project closure by the partner is not properly documented.
• The partner does not maintain the project/investment after project closure.

Good practice

• Check that the entire documentation is available and properly filed by the partner. Depending on the roles, Helvetas shall archive its part of documentation.
• Monitor if the partner is holding up to its commitments included in the partnership agreement for maintenance of the project/investment.
• Remind the partner, user and/or the community of their role in oversight function and maintenance of the project/investment. Engage them to establish a maintenance fund, which could be more relevant for smaller investments.
• Undertake field visits by Helvetas, possibly together with the donors.
